Interesting that everyone raises /censored.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(cens)' /> about this, but no one bothered to say anything when America Online began the process to patent the terms 'IM' and 'Instant Messaging".
Plus, since it was filed over a year and a half ago, it's not exactly new news, and likely at this point a petition will do nothing more than give their lawyers something good to laugh at.
