Those who have seen the movie conflicting opinions, but the movie is doing exactly as it was design to - cause controversy.

I think that the movie is absolutely dispicible. Most of it is nothing more than a personal attack on George Bush. The man may be the president, and therefore subject to scrutiny in the public eye, but this is outrageous. No person deserves to be subjected to this. It is a hainous act of slander, and I think Moore is a pathetic person for it. He abuses and attacks Bush's moral integrity. I think that the descision to go war with Iraq was poorly timed and focused on the wrong reasons. However, we can see this in hindsight. Everything is easier in hindsight, and I'm sure even Moore has kicked himself and said "i wish i did it that way instead" or "now i see that was the way to go." I wonder how a raving idiot such as Moore would react to the news that an unstable dictator was possibly in possession of WMD.

Moore's film is nothing more than properganderist crap in my opinion, especially the way that he attacks the soldiers fighting in Iraq. I beleive that it is a noble task to fight for one's country, and these soldiers are following orders. In Moore's one-eyed film posing as a documentary, he shows only footage of soldiers dying and making mistakes or a few who are acting out of order. He shows nothing of the soldiers giving supplies to the Iraqi people, guarding the government or doing any number of important functions, competently and respectably, as 90% of soliers do. The fact that Moore probably has not the courage, aptitude or physical ability to complete the tasks that these soldiers are doing in Iraq has no doubt escaped him.

I'm sick of hearing about Moore and his "eye-opening" documentary. A documentary should present both sides of the story or issue, yet Moore's film shows no footage of the hundreds of thousand Iraqi graves marking the Genocide carried out by Hussein's regime.

That is just my opinion, and I'm sure others think differently. However, I think that Fairenheit 911 is a worthless peice of properganda, that lacks objectivity, intelligence or moral integrity. All it does is replay emotive images designed to ellicet a negative reaction from the viewer.

U have a point, Michael Moore attacked Bush on a personal level.
But i do think he got some good points,
like... Bush visioned Al-Qaeda and said they where responsible... well i think that's just bullcrap, Bush needed a target so he 'created' one. Also i find that Bush handled the situation wrong, not that i can do it better...
Also Michael Moore looked at Bush' person in context as a president... i wouldn't wanna have a president that is 42 or 43% in vanaction...
allthough i find that Michael Moore went a bit over the top with this one, but like i said before he had some good points

Now that I\'ve sat down and watched this movie not once, but twice--along with the all of the special add-ons included with the dvd, I feel I am able to comment. Yes, the slant of the movie is one-sided, but so is the nightly news. If you watch American news, you will not see what was shown in this movie. You will see the positive points you raised, Trin. In my opinion, it was high time someone had the courage to call the American government to task, which is exactly what Michael Moore has done and I truly applaude him for having the courage to put it all out there in front of the viewing public. Before any of you who are US citizens get your backs up, notice I am talking about the American government not the American people. The majority of US citizens are good people--but the American government is in business for those in the \"inner circle\" or as President Bush said at that high priced dinner shown in the movie...\"his base\"...the haves and the have-mores. Time again, Michael Moore\'s points have been proven. It\'s not the exceedingly wealthy who step up to sign on the dotted line on the recruiting papers. It\'s the average citizen, the ones who don\'t have trust funds to pay for university or have Daddy pull strings to keep them out of trouble; it\'s the young people who are raised to be thankful for every little bit of freedom they have, who sometimes struggle every day just to survive. Many of you on this forum aren\'t old enough to remember Desert Storm, let alone Vietnam. The current situation in Iraq is another Vietnam. The American government says they are there to free the Iraqi people. Hussein has been captured, the government is in shambles, the country in ruins and young people are dying every day. How ironic that on both sides those young people are dying for what they believe in-freedom. It is too bad that the American government has its citizens believing that Iraq must be pounded into the ground in order for the USA to remain free. They use the resistance from the Iraqi citizens as a reason to remain. They have not given the average Iraqi citizen freedom, they have put them under occupation. The American government will not leave Iraq until it has a a firm grip on all industry in that country, at a great benefit to themselves and a loss to the Iraqi citizens. It is far past time for the average American citizen to stand up and say enough. One of the interviewees in the movie (the Marine who said he would refuse to return to Iraq & could now face a court martial for it) said it clearly in the extra features...it is not just your right to vote, it is your responsibility. If you are old enough to vote, use your vote wisely; if you are too young to vote, you can make a difference in other ways. Changes can and do happen, and sometimes it takes one courageous voice to start the yell that enough is enough. Lila Lipscomb, whose eldest son was needlessly killed in Iraq quoted Billy Graham in one of the extra features. While I may not be a Billy Graham fan, I give true merit to what he said. \"Courage is contagious, and if one strong spine stands, it helps other spines to be strengthened.\" It has been proven time and again that the USA was instrumental in bringing to power many of those \"dictators\" they have then had turn against them. It happened in Vietnam; it happened in Nicaragua, Afghanistan, Libya, Iran, and now Iraq. If you are going to play with fire, expect to get burned.
