Windows 7, Do you have it?
Got my copy on release day and I'm loving it so much! Makes so many more tasks easier than before. Definitely boots up faster than Vista and brings the best features of Vista and XP together! <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... iggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> I love it!

I guess my vote doesn't count too much because I have a cool stylish mac with good parts and excellent service. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
Another words.... I don't plan on buying it <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Yes, I have it. That is, I have the RC version installed.
Must say, I am very impressed with it. I installed it on my backup comp (p4 3.0ghz, 32mb gfx, 512mb ram, 20 GB hdd (That's not a typo <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />)) and the thing worked just fine. In fact, for some things it was faster than XP.
So, eventually, I will get the full version.

Really? So far, all I've heard about the Apple service is that it is horrible.I guess my vote doesn't count too much because I have a cool stylish mac with good parts and excellent service. blum.gif

I got in a wreck - replaced the whole thing for free (which is not part of my service agreement).Really? So far, all I've heard about the Apple service is that it is horrible.
A friend of mine has a macbook pro. it was 3 days from the care service expiring. His CD drive wasn't working for some reason. They gave him a brand new macbook pro, upgraded him to the newest versions of macbook pro, upgraded hard drive, ram, processor, and it has the newest OS (snow)
No complaints here at all. They are excellent on providing people in my area with great service.

I think the final retail is just a tad optimized so it runs faster. I'm sure if you like the RC installed, you'll love the RTM version. I haven't really found any annoyances except that you have to reboot (still) for updates to take place.Yes, I have it. That is, I have the RC version installed.
Pfffffft....prove it! <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> I need hard evidence!!I got in a wreck - replaced the whole thing for free (which is not part of my service agreement).

Here's a recent example of great Apple service.
Smoking Near Apple Computers Creates Biohazard, Voids Warranty

hey cool I know which store they're talking about in the first story <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> ...sounds pretty ridiculous to me. Wayne -- get some smoke around your laptop and tell them to replace it and see what happens lol

Hmm... given the replies, and having been a person who has had the utmost pleasure of working on systems owned by smokers, I would be siding with Apple on this one. The ingredients that linger in smoke transfer to the components of the computer system and actually form a sticky gunk on it. Its really quite gross... and it's increased 10-fold by the dust that sticks onto it. Any of you ever see what happens to electronic components when a conductive substance connects 2 points that should not be connected? This would fall under inadequate environmental conditions for the computer, causing it to fail. It's not a simple case of dust blocking the intake... its a case of harmful toxins actually sitting right on the components you have to service. A biohazard is any case where you are at risk of physical harm. Do some research sometime on what can happen to a non-smoker who is directly exposed to nicotine.
Apple is in the right, and the customers need to learn how to take care of their systems better.
Now, to answer the quiz question (to bring it back on topic), no, I do not have Windows 7, and have no plan on upgrading to it. Far as I'm concerned, it would be a waste of time since it does nothing extra that I really need.

So how many people truly know that smoking can cause gross build up on components? I didn't... But I've never had my computer around smokers so I've never seen this first hand. Granted, I live in a smoking household. I think Apple should at least mention this detail when selling extended warranties on their products. I know I would...

Interesting enough, the main reason why I bought Windows 7 was the new task bar, window management system (Snapping to the sides to compare documents for example) and the speed enhancements which are noticable immediately on the first bootup of Windows 7. I loved a lot of features in Vista but it was so bloated with unneeded junk. I also haven't been annoyed by the "Do you really want to perform this action?" window at all.... Glad they fixed that one! There are also some things in it they fixed that I didn't know would be in the release. One of the biggest fixes is the wireless internet.
I keep my computer on all the time and when I go to bed or leave the house, I put the computer in sleep mode. When I wake the computer up on Vista I would have to reset my network adaptor for Windows to recognize that there are truly wireless networks avaialble and I was indeed connected when I put the computer to sleep. In Windows 7 when I wake it up, it recognizes immediately that I was connected and it reconnects me without me even touching my internet. Thank gawds!!!

Windows 7, Do you have it?
I have it and been using it for a while now on my main desktop. I was lucky enough to get a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate Signature Edition. Not sure what the Signature Edition has to do with anything. Anyways having a laptop with Vista... I was worried a little bit about Windows 7, But after playing with the beta... Man I love it. XD Had to do a fresh install from Xp to 7 but meh, wasn't that bad.

I'm running a Quad-core, 4GB memory machine with a pretty hefty graphics card.... However, before this machine I had a single core with a 'better' graphics card (not bottom of the line), 2gb memory and it ran Win7 pretty well (in beta stages)
