When I sit down to create Decals in PhotoShop I make several and usually many.
Each time I go up to File to create a New canvas the window comes up in Pixels measurements.
I only work in Inches so I have to constantly first change the settings to Inches from Pixels.
Is there a way to make this New File window come up always in Inches so I don't have to change it over.
It only takes a few seconds to change but like I say, I may sit down and create 50 Decal images in an evening.
It probably won't make a difference but I'm using PS6.

If you always start with the same size canvas, you can make a custom preset (at least you can in Adobe PS CS1). To do this, open your New File window. In the first drop down menu, choose the Custom option. Choose all of your settings, name your Preset File (it will probably change automatically to the image size you've chosen in your settings, though) and click Save Preset. It will then be available to you whenever you open a new file, you just need to grab it from the drop down menu. I don't have PS 6, so I can't check to see if those options are available, but that is the only way I can find to do it. PS CS automatically opens in whatever setting you used previously - as I always work in pixel size, it always opens in that format. However I just tested it by opening a new image file in inches, then opened another one, and it opened in inches again. Soooooo....I dunno for sure <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... unsure.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

Thanks Tami,
Let me check that out.
I've got a copy of CS8 but I'm a little wary of uninstalling PS6 while I'm in the middle of several projects.
Anything higher than PS6 has a much larger selection of free downloadable styles and other goodies.

Thanks again Tami,
Looks like PS6 doesn't have a Custom preset for that feature in Photoshop.
