At a recent press event for the European launch of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Hideo Kojima released a few tidbits of information on the next Metal Gear Solid sequel. Speaking to the press, Kojima revealed that Metal Gear Solid 4 will definitely be a "next-generation title," which is widely rumored and assumed to be for the Playstation 3.
He went on to say that he will be taking a step back from the development process and assume the role of executive producer,, allowing Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi to fill the role of producer(as of press time, the games director has not been announced). Staying on as art director is Yoji Shinkawa, who ass been instrumental in the creating the series' look and feel since the original MSG on the PSone. In addition to the next-gen confirmation, Kojima-san let slip a few other MSG 4 tidbits: The game will kick off a brand new series featuring Solid Snake and its concept will be "No place to hide."
Imaizumi went on to say that they want the game to "feature a fresh , intriguing storyline and gameplay plus captivating graphic and more features while remaining true to the core of the MSG series - remaining Solid."
Unfortunately, we are going to have to wait quite a while before we see the next installment, but there have already been some rumors that it will be shown at E3.
