KN TimeSaver Object Theme
I figured it was time I started putting together some new object themes for the KillaNet TimeSaver Screensaver ... so I put together one I call the \"KillaAdmins\".
Here\'s the web shot of the KillaAdmins Object Theme:

If you would like to download this Object Theme click here

Just kidding...good job, Jake

Any hints for our other graphics people who might be interested in making some object files?

lol.... *ponders what nifty trick he did to narrowly escape a broom whacking
as far as tips... there\'s the tutorials which are also included with the screensaver, but something that is not shown in the tutorials is that people can make object themes really quick by loading 4 pictures into the object maker and putting checks in the \"Use Preview Dimensions\" boxes.

You haven\'t necessarily escaped it...I\'m still pondering it

Maybe object sets are something we could add to our KN downloads offerings

The size is up to you.... I try to keep each image under 200 pixels high and wide... just because any bigger than that and the screen becomes crowded (especially for people using 800 x 600 res or lower) .
I guess there\'s two basic things needed for an Object Theme
1) The .tsot file
2) The webshot
The .tsot file is the actual object theme itself. This can be made using the object theme maker (you can use whatever file type the maker allows you to use). If you either email me (flyingdoggyjake@killanet.net) the .tsot file, or messenger (flyingdoggyjake@hotmail.com) it to me, I will add it to the kntimesaver.killanet.net downloads.
The webshot is also made in the object theme maker and it only comes out in .bmp format. I usually convert it to .jpg using irfanview (or any other sufficient program) to save space on web servers. The webshot is important because it allows people to get an idea of what the Object Theme looks like so they can decide if they want to download it. However, I can easily make the webshot for anyone who makes a .tsot file if they don\'t want to do it themselves.
I hope that answers your questions Nem and I\'m glad to hear you\'re considering making an Object Theme

hey jake i made a theme...it has 33 images in it but the object theme make will only let me make -it appears- four images into a theme.....i can certainly thin down the amount (or make two similar themes with it all) but only having four of the images at a time seemed a little sparse.
any ideas?

Well at this point 4 objects is all the program will allow for.... the only way I can see more objects being a reasonable option is to have some sort of fading effect between different objects. You see the problem with more than 4 at once on the screen is that too many collisions start ot occur (especially if the clock, message of the day, and date are also on there) and it starts looking chaotic. This is especially true for users with low screen res (eg. 800 x 600 or lower). There\'s a slim chance that down the road I may find the time and get motivated to incorporate some type of fading effect to allow for more images. However, until that unlikely event I\'m afraid 4 objects is the only option

On the bright side of things, if you\'ve got 33 to choose from, I imagaine that the 4 you choose will be pretty darn good
/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> .... as well like you said you can make more than one theme (eg. ScaryTheme1, ScaryTheme2...etc.)

No pressure here, take a break, have a beer ..... take your time. Go skydiving, surfing, parasailing, or whatever it is you enjoy. The object theme can wait!
Personally I put bbqs, beer, friends, and pizza
/brows.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(brows)\' /> at the top of my priority list. Object Themes for KnTimesaver come somewhere after picking my navel... now don\'t missunderstand me; picking my navel is rather important
/yahoo.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(yahoo)\' /> . But at any rate, take your time!

No it won\'t upload them so everyone can use them. I will need the .tsot file, which you can email to me at flyingdoggyjake@killanet.net or messenger to me (flyingdoggyjake@hotmail.com)
Look forward to seeing your OT .... but take your time!
