Love will tear us apart

Ok, this one is abit personal. My girlfriend of some time is off to University on Saturday and so we wont get to see each other as much so as you can imagine Im feeling abit down about it, and as a result finaly found some inspiration to get something done in Photoshop. I wanted the image to be very simple and very differant to my usual bright blues and reflect how Im feeling at the moment. It took sometime to find a stock photo to use that held the emotion I wanted to put across in the image but was pleased with the one I found. I played around with a couple of ideas, using two differant stocks and had an image of a woman to the left of the man but I found it lost the simplicity I was looking for. With the "Love will tear us apart" (a song by Joy Division) theme in mind I wanted to portray this idea in the image and so added the scaring/rips into his skin to give the idea of the tearing. To add a personal touch I added both our names into the image, using my real name instead of my to@ds handle. I coloured the eye's to bring some more colour into the image, and added in the faded heart but Im still not sure about that and whether it should stay in the image or not so any comments on that would be a big help. On the whole Im pretty pleased with the overall image but Im just gutted its taken her moving away to get me inspired to do some photoshop /cry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> C+C welcome as allways. Amazing Toads, I really like the emotion that this piece shows. You really did succeed in what you wanted to bring across to the guy/girl watching it. I feel sorry for you that she is moving away...

Great piece though /good.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(Y)\' />

Here you go UserX, your background as requested, sorry its taken me a while to get round to doing but Ive been busy this week doing work for customers so my personal graphics have had to take a back seat for a while. I know you said you didnt mind having mine and michaela's names in the image but I didnt want to include them in this image as the original in the post above was something personal to me, this image is for you and so I didnt want to include our names so please dont take offence. If you want some other text added in, let me know and I'll update the background for you. [attachment=2498:attachment]

Wow to@ds. Thats simply amazing. The image already has alot of emotion, those eyes are stunning and manipulating them to be red and to tie in with your theme really works wonders. I think the heart looks good and perhaps even fuse the title of your piece to the heart image by adding a tear? I think it looks wicked and you achieved what you wanted fantastically, kudos /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
