Well, I did notice that this lightning can be formed halfway through the Celestial Flare tutorial.....:-)

You could improve that by...
1) Duplicate the layer.
2) Image > Adjustments > Desaturate (Original layer)
3) Hue & Saturation > Colorize > Hue: 210, Saturation: 65, Lightness: 0 (Duplicate layer)
4) Set top layer to Linear Burn.
Plus you could even (after flattening image)...
5) Image > Adjustments > Levels - Set the input levels to: 125, 1.75, 255
Then just delete the bits that don't join.

hmm... each image provides a different style, therefore i dont think either \"improves\" on the other... dont get me wrong though, they are both very nice pieces or work

True.
I was just kinda working on how to get rid of the bits that aren't "attached" as real lightning doesn't do that, that's all.

Those are some good suggestions, Spooky.
I may have to look into setting some time aside to write some tutorials
