I received this email a few minutes ago from one of our Township Councillors:
[quote]Hi Tami—
I asked staff informally for a report on the KillaNet status. The Township administrator told me he expects a new classification will be designed for you. That’s good news. The Community Development Department is a little less gung-ho, but still expects to issue a licence. Some of the key staff have been away or tied up due to the Hall move, but I will get a proper update later this week.
Things are looking up, I think. I will get back to you soon.
Take care

So the funding is going to cover the admins and their immediate family to travel there in order to bring the cafe live, right?

That\'s for the license we need in order to get the funding and a location. Without the license, I couldn\'t complete some of the numbers needed in the business plan for store stock and supplies because some distributors and manufacturers require a copy of a company\'s business license before they will release catalogues and price lists.....which is why in some areas I\'ve just been going in circles.

Oh sure Radar... it\'s right there in the budget with the fees for all the staff to enter the Country, and a place for them to stay for a week.
You\'ve got about $40,000 sitting around, right?
The perk to me is I already have rights to enter Canada without any fees, and can be paid while there, and have sleeping arrangements in the Province already (seeing as I still own a house there).

C'mon. Coles doesn't pay me THAT much. As if I would have $40,000 lying around anyway, I probbaly would have spent it on a computer or car.
As for sleeping arrangements, I'm sure Adaera wouldn't mind us crashing there.

Think she would mind having the Canadian Immigration banging on her door for employing people who were working in the country illegally?

Well someone has to make sure all you spyz0rs end up in the USA

And Radar, there is nothing I\'d like more than to be able to fly you all here, I think we\'d have a great time and it would do wonders for us operating as a corporate team...but...it\'s just not in the budget right now

However, I would appreciate everyone\'s input on ideas for workshops from the very basic \"how to turn a puter on and send email to your grandkids\" to the more advanced photography, graphics, and programming. Also geek things we could look at stocking in the retail area. We will obviously have some supplies...floppies, cd\'s, dvd\'s, jumpdrives, mousecreatures, headphones etc. We have a scaled-down The Source store (aka Radio Shack) and one puter store that is somewhat reputable not that I shop there. There will be a limited assortment of geekwear and KN promo products such as what we carry in cafepress, and of course tech books and game books as well as real life rpg stuff such as Magic The Gathering paraphenalia. In other words....help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
