[b]Blending Options[/b]

Well I never did get what some of the things in the blending options dialog would do except make my image look really crapply looking.. So if it\'s not too much trouble could I please get an explanation of what the following does and what I could actually use it for?

Satin[/i]

And what the heck does the tick box that says \"Link with Layer\" .. I tick it and untick it and it basically does nothing for me lol..

Contour in the Bevel and Emboss kind of defines where the bevel and emboss is. So if you had a graph like the / then that means it gradually builds up to a peak. If you had one that was shaped like a V then it would have two peaks with a gap in the middle.

Satin is just some effect you can put on, gives the effect that it looks decent.

By linking two or more layers or layer sets, you can move their contents together. You can also copy, paste, align, merge, apply transformations to, and create clipping masks from linked layers. To link layers: 1. Select a layer or layer set in the Layers palette. 2. Click in the column immediately to the left of any layers you want to link to the selected layer. A link icon Link icon appears in the column. To unlink a layer, click again on the link icon. See the chain icon? That indicates layers which are linked to the active layer. Adaera is right, for PS CS1

but for PS CS2 you hold ctrl, click the layers, then click the \"chain\" at the bottom of the layer thing.

Edit: in PS CS1 when you hold ctrl and click the layer it selected the contents... i am trying to figure out how to do that in PS CS2 >.>

Edit2: To Select the contents of a layer, hold ctrl and click the icon on the later thing /good.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(Y)\' /> *thanks to the adobe support forums*
