My Board

For a while i've been messing around with designs for a new personal site named [i]Take.Twenty.Three[/i] or [i]3xT[/i] (3 times T).

Made these last week but wasn't particularly keen on them. Will probably keep trying and messing around with a few more designs until i'm happy. I don't want an overly graphic layout which people are probably used to seeing from me. Just something clean and simple, which'll get people coming back.

Your thoughts on the attached please?

they are both good but i prefer the attachment on the right.

I'm liking the last one a lot, am thinking i'll use it. Just waiting to see if any comments point out any suggestions/changes (except "it's white").

Now that I\'m looking at it, the navigation links just don\'t fit in with the whole thing.. They\'re to small with a lot of white space to the right of them.. Any way you can liven it up a little bit in there? /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

Hmm, I was thinking of adding a 'Clicks' thing, like:

LINK CLICKS
- Home ( 37 )

But apart from that i've got nothing, unless I put more space to left and just left align them a bit closer to the middle. Any ideas?

I would only use link clicks for like affiliates, or some kind of \'popular link contest\' thing lol... Ummm.. Maybe you could increase the letter spacing just a little bit?

Yeh that was the downside to my idea, lol. I could increase the spacing, it's a thought. But the words are quite short so i'm not sure how much of an impact that'll have.

Nearly 70 views and I know they're not all from Josh and I. Anyone else looking at this, ideas?

I like the second two, more so then the first one.

I'll reply with some suggestions soon, a little busy atm.

I've noticed quite a few of you nocturnal staff members don't like white sites.. weirdo's!

The third one (with splash) looks very clean and very original. I love it. I don't like the font that you've used as for headings, and I'm not sure if that's fixed-width or not, but if it is I think it would look good if the header stretched the whole way across the screen. The header and footer will be tiled across the screen. The image is only 800x800 so I can understand why you may think it'd be fixed width. As for the font, any suggestions? If you're talking about the section header font, that's Times, the body text is Tahoma.

lol, yea I noticed that too... I don\'t mind white sites at all /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> Just as long as there\'s some type of color somewhere, if it\'s all just black and a middle tone grey then I wouldn\'t like it.

I have to agree on the font, I think you should use a different font but I have no idea\'s for a font. I need to download more fonts right now because the ones I do have are not the ones I really like. /ggsad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(sad)\' /> *sigh*

Perhaps if you replaced the hyphens before the text in the menu with something else?

I like the white one. It looks cleaner and smoother than the black.

Yeh thanks guys. For anyone outside the KN staff, I've coded the white one and am about 5-10% through the PHP. Fun stuff.
