There was no real place to put this so I decided to put it here :S Move it if you wish.

Is there a way that I can restrict access to my site during certain times and for a certain IP using php or some other code? My site is currently being abused by some people at the school and I have no way of tracking them which really peeves me off. I've currently blocked the school's IP from the site so that they can't do it any more but then I can't even access the site anymore to check on it.

If there's anyway to solve this problem, other than dobbing them in which I would more than love to do, I'd love to hear it.

I dont know if this is possible, but could be some sort of script that will redirect them, and the ip, which you could hide on the main page, that would still ban you, but perhaps you could just dodge the front page? Dont quote me on anything ive said as i dont knwo php.

You definatly could setup a redirect script for ips/times in php, would mean you\'d need to include it into every page (depending on the way your site is setup).

I talked to the IT Admin here at school today, he said that I can't prove anything unless I've got timestamps and IPs but the good thing is that I do and they are at home. I added that lil feature in yesterday. Also, I'm going to change the part where they hover over a person's name and it displays email, it'll display email but IP as well. It's all good though, I've blocked the offending IP address. They tried to use a proxy today but it's only a matter of time before I block it again. The school keeps logs of every page that has been accessed and I know who the offender is, all I need's the proof.
