I taught poser a couple tricks and it bit me a few times...I think we\'ve called a temporary truce.
Then there\'s my faithfull old standby psp8..it\'s starting to fight dirty too.
Here\'s about where I gave up.

That\'s cool looking, Paradox. Here\'s a secret - we all had to start somewhere once, and we were all new to graphics at one point in time. Keep at it, keep trying new things, ask questions, share work, and you will advance your skills in no time. By the looks of things, you already have a very good start /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Do you want to see my first photoshop work, Paradox? /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> Just think... I\'ve went from that, to stuff like this! It all takes time, you just have to be patient. The best advice I can give you is to do lots and lots of tutorials, fiddle with everything in photoshop, and always post your work for friendly critique on it so you know what you could improve upon. /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

this was an experiment, and in this experiment I learned that I cannot colour skin very well, so therefore, the picture has a blue hue setting. I tried green (of course) but that was just too....alien looking. /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

it\'s certainly a lot better than I could do. It\'s pretty darn good for a first try. Only thing I would suggest is the white lines between sections need to be covered/blended

Looks great, next time just make sure the shapes your making with the pen tool connect to the neighboring shape so there is no white space. Also, make sure all the edges of it are smooth.. I\'ve done something like this before, but it was an outline of a guy I used in a peice called \"A Peaceful Night\" (found here) It took about an hour or two to perfect the outline of him. /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

looks cool ada, abit orange imo...but that\'s probably part of the symbolism that I don\'t get >.>

Gallery

by to@ds
Im not sure about the sybolism in this one Ada, but when I look at the picture it kind of has two looks. The most obvious one to me, is of a kinf of path cut between two rock faces, and then the second, is if you look over to the left hand side, you can see what looks like and orange waterfall, which could give the iea of the "path", actualy being water, then further in the back ground it looks like water splashing. Im not sure which one it is, and as I said before Im not sure on the symoblism either, but I do know this looks like an awesome peice, the stroke work, and general "painting" of the peice is excellent and really stiking. I also like the colour scheem used to. The orange, blacks, whites and greys look really striking next to each other and help give a certain intensity to the image. Great peice, 9/10

*edit* Oh, and too me, from my own above view on the image, the symbolism that I take away from the images is the idea of water being something that although more maluable and soothing, can still cut its way through rough, harsh and barren stone.
