For software, if you had pc magazines (PC Authority is the Australian one i often read) they usually come with freeware disks, that have all the latest software (browsers, msgrs, windows apps and tools), if you had an external hard drive or large usb you could update the computers systematically with the latest software, and if someone needs something, you will have a pretty big database of freeware that they can copy straight off the disk (maybe for a price?).

Also, these disks come with game demos - you could have all the latest ones and do a poll for which one people would like to play in KC.
