As for the modelling; Right now I would just focus on modelling. Don\'t worry about making the materials and lighting, just get the modelling skills down. Once you master that you can try and move onto the realistic texturing. Texturing in C4D (well, any 3d application really) is a complex subject. There are so many options you can set to make a perfect texture and there are also many options you can forget to/not set to make it not as realistic as it could be. Lighting can be the same.
This model looks pretty good tbh. The outer edge doesn\'t seem to be equal in width all the way around the pool, but that\'s okay, it\'s your first try.
