My Board A short text to describe your forum 2007-11-11T20:37:52+00:00 https://www.forum.killanet.net/app.php/feed/topic/6778 2007-11-11T20:37:52+00:00 2007-11-11T20:37:23+00:00 https://forum.killanet.net/viewtopic.php?p=41840#p41840 <![CDATA[Sylo's Cinema 4D Junk]]> *cough*Cylinder*cough*

Anyways nicejob on the abstract but I would add a hyper nurbs to it and an actual material, maybe a Banji and play with the settings.

Start anywhere. Just pick a spot and start there. Generally doesn't matter where you start to model something. After a few times you learn to pick good spots to start the model from.

Yeah, water is said to be THE most difficult thing to make realistic in 3d. So don't worry too much about it. I can't get it to look right.. it's so hard to get the reflection/transperancy/refractions to look good.

As for your model, it's not bad. Quite simple, but you have done the simple work quite well. Now you just got to try something that will challenge you even more.

As for the modelling; Right now I would just focus on modelling. Don\'t worry about making the materials and lighting, just get the modelling skills down. Once you master that you can try and move onto the realistic texturing. Texturing in C4D (well, any 3d application really) is a complex subject. There are so many options you can set to make a perfect texture and there are also many options you can forget to/not set to make it not as realistic as it could be. Lighting can be the same.

This model looks pretty good tbh. The outer edge doesn\'t seem to be equal in width all the way around the pool, but that\'s okay, it\'s your first try. Um, Also, the pool looks a big small for that big ladder thing. It just seems to big for that pool.
